The invention of the Information Superhighway has made remarkable impact on how we live today. The world has changed and the acquisition of knowledge has never been so easy. In the business environment, competition has become a whole lot more intense. Companies that used old business models have died instantly because they never saw what lies ahead of them. A small company with enough knowledge and blazing unique ideas became a great success and became instant Icon recognizable globally in Web Marketing for Software just because they know how the game works.
Today, the game is not just about knowing how your business works. It is about knowing how will your business will be able to adapt to the rapidly changing business environment. It is about knowing what lies ahead of what is here right now. That is why companies have embraced a new generation of technologies to know this information. Data Mining is what I was referring to. Data Mining is about discovering patterns from a seemingly chaotic sets of very large information, transform this newly discovered patterns into structures that will form another sets of information from which a trend will be uncovered and eventually generate a new prediction.
Data Mining is also very useful in Search Engine Optimization process. Knowing the quantity of searches for a given keyword from certain geographic location and be able to jump in the particular sets of information could guarantee increase in high quality web visitors that would have high conversion rate. It has been a fact that organic visitors (visitors referred by search engines) are the ones that most businesses are after because of their high conversion rate. But is not enough though that having to attract visitors would guaranteed success. Data Mining is also used to interpret data collected from logs or footprints left by the visitors to know which part they probably did not liked, what they liked most and what would make them like the website more than they should to keep on patronizing the product.
